Child Safe Policies & Procedures

The Education Centre is a Child Safe Organisation Workplace. Listed below are policies and procedures that all staff, visitors and clients must adhere to.

  • Staff Screening

    • All prospective staff undergo a criminal history check.
    • All staff must hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Code of Conduct

    • Staff, visitors, and clients must maintain respectful and appropriate interactions with children.
    • Physical, emotional, or verbal abuse is strictly prohibited.
  • Mandatory Reporting

    • Any suspicion or disclosure of child abuse or neglect must be reported immediately to the relevant authorities.
    • Staff are trained to recognize signs of potential harm and follow set reporting protocols.
  • Supervision and Environment

    • Ensure all learning areas and activities are closely supervised.
    • Visitors to the centre may only interact with students under staff supervision.
  • Ongoing Training and Compliance

    • Regular training sessions keep staff updated on child protection laws, best practices, and any policy changes.
    • Policies are reviewed and updated periodically to maintain a safe environment.
  • Visitor and Client Obligations

    • Visitors and clients must follow centre guidelines for child safety and sign in upon arrival.
    • Adults on-site agree to uphold the principles of a child-safe workplace at all times.

The Education Centre is committed to providing high-quality educational support to all students in a professional, respectful, and ethical manner, and this Tutor Code of Conduct outlines the standards and expectations for tutors associated with The Education Centre, reflecting both the principles of the Australian Tutoring Association and our own values.

Mandatory Reporting

We are legally obligated to report any suspected or confirmed offences, including instances of child abuse, neglect, or harm, to the appropriate authorities in accordance with child-safe legislation. This ensures that all concerns are promptly addressed and that children remain protected, reflecting our commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for every student.
