Belonging is about fitting in socially with your peers. It’s about feeling accepted and understood, and understanding others around you. Belonging gives you a sense of community. The Education Centre understands how important this concept is.
 
Learning life skills at The Education Centre is an enjoyable and fulfilling experience for our participants. Our innovative programs are tailored to meet your individual needs and goals.
 
We have a diverse range of capacity building programs, and also cater for those skills which are a bit different or unique.
 
The Education Centre is a local service with 15 years experience teaching life skills. Our vision is to empower our clients with Confidence, enabling them to learn the life skills necessary to help them to relate to others.

Basic Communication

Counting, recognition of numbers, sorting & matching, taking turns

Reading

Improving basic writing skills, compiling shopping lists, writing emails & letters

Money Skills

Telling news & events, sharing news & events, making friends

Measurement, volume, storing cooked food, cooking

Road Safety

Driving rules, maps, travel training, reading signs

House Cleaning

How to organise your cupboards, understanding cleaning chemicals, safety at home, resolving crises

Personal Presentation

Telephone manners, going out etiquette, communication, understanding relationships

Art

Drawing, painting, planning artworks, learning artistic techniques, linework, composition

NDIS classes & tutoring - The Education Centre

Am I Elegible For NDIS?

Who is elegible? In order to qualify for NDIS support, you must:

  • Be under 65 years of age
  • Be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen who is a Protected Special Category Visa holder
  • Have a permanent or significant disability requiring assistance from others, equipment, or technology, to do things

Or you need to meet the Early Childhood Early Intervention criteria:

  • Your child is 6 years and under, and has developmental delay or disability

We are proud to have satisfied the strict requirements regarding qualifications, experience, expertise and capacity. You can apply for funding, providing you meet the eligibility criteria (see below), to partake in any of the classes or courses we offer at The Education Centres in Coffs Harbour, Woolgoolga and Grafton.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is designed to fund and support disabled people, to foster their independence and develop their ability to be actively involved in the local community.
